Brain Candy
I finally got some time to go find the literay treat I've been hungering for - Diablo Cody's "Candy Girl".
I was trying to find it in my local Borders bookstore without asking a clerk for it. It was a little difficult to find. But then I'm not in the "Women's Studies" section too often. Maybe I should be.
I'm through the first chapter, which is awesome. It's not just a bio. It's an extremely intelligent and witty riff on culture.I highly recommend it, just based on the first chapter alone.
If you were a reader of my previous blog, "DanceFan: on Strippers and Life", you already know I have a thing about strip club and strippers. Diablo Cody is one of my favorites, having followed her blog "Pussy Ranch" for a long time.
What you might not know is that I visited her club during a business trip to Minneapolis, and only narrowly missed meeting her. I got there a half hour after the day shift ended. My loss. Here's the entry about it from DanceFan:
